Product Design & Exploration

Hi, I’m Alice.

I’m a product designer based in Brooklyn, NY.

Originally from Los Angeles, I moved to New York to study product design at Parsons School of Design. After graduating with a BFA in product design in 2017 I started a venture called Nomatiq to gain experience in creating my own company to learn how to design, produce and sell products. Nomatiq is a constantly evolving brand that reflects my growth as a designer. Along the way I worked for a rep company called the American Design Club, where we represented independent designers, and eventually got to rep my own brand as well. That’s where I was able to get my products into big box stores like Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom, and Bespoke Post, as well as museum stores like the ICA/Boston Museum and The New Museum in NYC, and small brick and mortar stores across the USA and in Europe and Canada. I worked in a wood shop under Brecht Wright Gander where I was involved in the production and installation of artwork and bespoke furniture. I’ve also worked with a commercial bedding company geared towards selling to a millennial audience, where I was responsible for creative direction of the brand.

My favored approach to design is to speculate on alternative, imaginative solutions and possibilities. My products tend to be more sculptural and conceptual while maintaining real-world functionality. Overall, I believe the products that we surround ourselves with should be playful, thoughtful, and should break the mold of standardized forms. The things we bring into our lives should be as unique as we are as individuals. “UN-STANDARDIZED” is the next venture that I am currently building, consolidating my experience into one focused brand.

Expected by the end of 2023.
